Learning how to play Tambura

In the past few months, YES Abroad student Isabella has been learning how  to play the Macedonian tambura, a folk instrument that is played throughout the Balkans. Isabella had the opportunity to play with her classmates and instructors, to wear traditional folk outfit and perform at a traditional Macedonian concert. She was also able to hear some music played by other local folk bands in Skopje. Achieving one of the program goals, Isabella truly immerged with the local traditions and culture while learning how to play a new instrument.
