YES Abroad student attends marathon race with Host Family

YES Abroad student Duyen Nguyen is embracing opportunities to bond with her host family and set a positive example in the community. She was invited to run a marathon with the HF and agreed, thinking it would be the full 42 km race. “On the day of the marathon, they informed me that we were running a 5k, which is only about 3.2 miles. I was jumping with joy”. She shares that the vibe of the whole marathon event was full of energy, bright, and positive. “We crossed the finish line of the 5k, drenched in sweat but filled with an overwhelming sense of accomplishment, proud of what we had achieved together. Even if it was a 26-mile marathon, I would’ve still ran with them with no regrets,” Duyen concluded.
