Volunteering story of YES Abroad student Sophia Serebro

“I have always had a passion for helping people and being a YES Abroad student in a foreign country gave me a chance to set a positive impact on the society here. I joined an organization called Ljubeznost that let me become a part of something much bigger than I thought. Every weekend we would deliver food to over a 100 homeless people to different parts of town. Not only have I made new connections with locals, I’ve also been able to make new friends and put my Macedonian language skills to use! Joining this organization has not only let me become a volunteer, but also a vital part in so many other people’s lives within the community.”
