REEL Neighbors Project

Funded by the US Embassy in Sofia and implemented by American Councils for International Education offices in Sofia and Skopje, the REEL Neighbors project aimed to further the cross-cultural communication skills of young people from Bulgaria and North Macedonia through specialized training in filmmaking, digital storytelling, and videography. The project began with a series of eight 90-minute online webinars March through June, covering introductory filmmaking, digital storytelling and videography. The project recently held an in-country exchange in Skopje, North Macedonia, from August 19 to 23, which created a vibrant and immersive experience, bringing together participants from Bulgaria and North Macedonia, including YES Alumni Nikolija Zlatevska, Zagorka Panova, Flonja Iseni and Filip Trajkovski, to collaborate on an exciting documentary project.
