Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Global Abroad

Sponsored by the US Department of State FLEX Global Abroad provides American high school students with the opportunity to live and study abroad in select FLEX partner countries, including North Macedonia.

FLEX Global Abroad participants serve as cultural ambassadors by building meaningful relationships with their host families, schools, and local communities. Students live with a host family, attend a local high school, improve their intercultural communication skills, and gain first-hand experience with a different culture and way of life.

Through community engagement, leadership activities, and daily interactions, participants deepen their understanding of the world while sharing American culture and values.

In North Macedonia, FLEX Global Abroad participants spend an academic year immersed in local communities, learning about Macedonian culture, traditions, language, and society while fostering lasting people-to-people connections.
